Re: Help... Looking for a 386 or 486 DOS AA palmtop to do all this:

Hehe, so what were the remaining 0.5%? Yeah collecting old computers doesn't have much to do about "usefulness" - more about passion... But i still use my HP 200LX nearly every day. Love it since it fits into my jacket pocket. I still do all my accounting calculations with the included "Pocket Quick...

Yeah love my family, but you don't have much time for other hobbies... :D I bought the Sony UX in bulk. I knew i could sell them for a good profit, so i bought a box with 10 of them. The Wibrain... yeah i understand people calling it "ugly". But maybe it's also a bit charming to be "Ugly" and have k...

Re: Sharp PC-3000

Yeah the HP 100LX/200LX in combination with an SRAM card are a real life saver in this case.

Thanks for the tip with the low power mode, i should somehow add that to my 3000/3100 articles.

Re: Help... Looking for a 386 or 486 DOS AA palmtop to do all this:

There's actually loads of weirdos like us who love old monochrome DOS machines. At least if you look at the prices some fetch on ebay you get the impression some people are crazy. A used HP 200LX without box or manuals for 300 USD? A SHarp PC-3000 without any accessories, not even cables for 400 USD...

Re: Help... Looking for a 386 or 486 DOS AA palmtop to do all this:

Love the Gecko Edubook. Actually I love it so much I have 2 of them. Especially in Japan - where "Hi Power AA-Cells" in an 8 Pack are dirt cheap - it was always very handy. And the good point is that it has a charging mechanism built-in, so if you insert some Ni-MH AA batteries you can just plug in ...

Any game developers in here?

Well I started programming a bit in Unreal Engine 4. Any fellow game developers here?

Re: Help... Looking for a 386 or 486 DOS AA palmtop to do all this:

I really do like the Sharp PC-3000/PC-3100. Besides the flaws it is still a nice machine. But let's get to the drawbacks: - The PC-3000 (3100) runs MS-DOS 3.3. So even though it's possible to use PCMCIA Flash cards with a special driver you can only use a maximum of 32 MB. - The parallel/Serial port...

Radio Lighters

I finally started a serious collection of Radio lighters. Good point is that there are not that many different models from what i know. That must have been the pinnacle of miniaturization when the first ones popped up in the 1970s. Too bad there's no more AM stations around here, but with some luck ...

Gaming laptops

Does anyone have a gaming laptop? I was thinking of buying a neat gaming laptop. The ones with Geforce 1080 or 1070 are way too expensive, but maybe i could afford a used one with a geforce 960 or 1060 i thought. Any experience?

Atari Stacy

I always wanted a Stacy. These are so big and heavy. Still i would try to convert it back to using batteries. I heard it would run like 30 minutes on batteries. That's so awesome. XD
