Re: Any game developers in here?

Well before i got a family i sometimes spent some time doing case mods and such. Not really hardware development, but here's some tinkering i was pretty proud of:

Re: Yay! I got a Zeos Pocket PC. But Oh no! How to transfer files?

Well for most Palmtops it's great to have an SRAM card and a (networking and USB enabled) laptop that can read and write them. I do love the HP series (minus the 95LX) because they include Flash drivers and file system, so most Flash card directly work out-of-the-box. Also most CF+PCMCIA-Adaptor com...

The original Tidalwave power supply is 9 Volt. The batteries last significantly longer if you lower the CPU speed and turn off the serial/parallel ports (which you can't use right now anyways). If you wanna haggle then drop me a PM. After all I'd love to see these port replicators in the hands of pe...

Re: Yay! I got a Zeos Pocket PC. But Oh no! How to transfer files?

The first link you posted clearly says "Flash" AND SRAM on like the 3rd photo. Never had something like that, so no idea if it works or not. Maybe it'd be mounted as 2 drives. But no clue if the Tidalwave can handle that. But from the looks I'm not sure if this is TYPE I, but maybe the plastic case ...

Re: Yay! I got a Zeos Pocket PC. But Oh no! How to transfer files?

Nah that's actually a Flash card - which simply won't work (at least i never managed to get them to work). The only PCMCIA cards i ever got to work in a tidalwave are SRAM cards. The biggest SRAM card i have is 4 MB and it's not even compatible with all palmtops, so realistically you'd get something...

Re: Yay! I got a Zeos Pocket PC. But Oh no! How to transfer files?

On the ZEOS and generally all tidalwave clones I haven't been able to get Flash working at all. There are several problems: - PCMCIA 1.0 Type I slots. That means 3.3 mm cards only while most flash cards are Type II (5 mm). - No flash drivers/File system Maybe with some combination of drivers/Filesys...

Re: Your favorite vintage non-palmtop computer?

Ha, you could run Windows XP on that! Still nice machine. I always liked the old Voodoo cards. Back in the days these were pretty much what I'd dream about at night. The Soundblaster AWE 64 was also kinda the last of its kind - back then you'd get a real sound card and not rely on a chip on your mot...

CGA Video player source code

Well this one looks quite impressive on a DOS palmtop - full screen video. Back in the mid 90s even the "big" CD-ROM games usually only had a small video somewhere in the center of the screen as even 486 were fighting hard to get the video to play smoothly. So what's the trick to play back full scre...

XPCGA prank app source code

This is an old prank app... Maybe you have seen the Youtube video about it before... Just made this to fool a friend. It simulates loading Windows XP. Originally made for my HP 100LX, but will run on all CGA DOS Palmtops. http://www.tankraider.com/userup/1521059718.zip This is the source code. You w...
